In 1983 along with the growth of Allen Township, the department saw the need to purchase an additional “Class A” pumper. In November the new Hahn 1250 GPM pumper with a 750 Gallon tank arrived. This unit left service in June of 2007, as 4512. In 1996, the engine had a “Class A” Foam system installed on it to enhance its attack ability.

As the need to improve the rescue capabilities of the department, a new rescue truck was ordered in 1986. This unit was a GMC with an Eastern Rescue 15 foot body. The older International Van was then sold to a local fire department as a utility vehicle. This unit stayed in service until being replaced by the present 4541, 1999 Central States / Freightliner Heavy Rescue. The truck was sold to a vehicle broker and its where-abouts are unknown.

The department purchased a 1987 Freightliner Chassis in 1987 to refurbish the tanker. Again, Four Guys of Meyersdale removed the body from the GMC and replaced it on to the new chassis. In an addition, pre-connects were added to improve its effectiveness.

This truck served the department will until being replaced in 2002 with the new 4531, 2002 Central States / Freightliner 1500 GPM, 3000 Gallon tank tanker. The truck was sold to a vehicle broker and its where-abouts are unknown.

By 1989, the department felt that the 1964 International Pumper should be replaced. Due to the high cost of a new pumper, it was decided to purchase a used engine. A 1978 Pierce 1250 GPM, 750 tank engine was purchased from the McKinley Fire Department of Abington Township, Pennsylvania. The International Pumper was sold to a small department in Arkansas.

This truck served the department well until being sold shortly after the purchase of the present 4511 Freightliner/Central States Pumper. The engine was sold to a department in Georgia through a broker.

This brought our fleet up to present times.
